We are moving to Greece. Most people know that fact.
However, the details– the who, the what, the where, the when, and the how– those things; they seem a little fuzzy. So, we thought we would write a short post and let you know where we are in the process.
We have to raise 100% of our financial support before we go to Greece.
We are a little over 35% funded. That is incredible, but we still have a long way to go. Our goal is to be fully funded no later than July 31; so that we can be in country by September 1.
Fully funded means we have 100% of our monthly living and ministry expenses pledged AND several one time expenses including five weeks of missions training, language school, and general moving/set-up expenses completely financed.
So, first and foremost, John and I are actively raising support by inviting people and churches to partner with us financially. If you would like to hear more about how to partner with us financially, please let us know. We would love to connect with you!
We can’t take it all with us. In fact, we can’t take most of it. So, we are in the process of selling most of our possessions.
For the past 26 years, John and I have lived the typical American life. That means we accumulated a lot of stuff. In order to cover some of our moving and set-up expenses ourselves, we are attempting to sell as much of our stuff as possible.
In order to accomplish this, we are hosting both an online and a live estate sale. In fact, the online estate sale has already begun!
Follow this link to check out the sale on our website, and follow this link to see the items we have listed in our Facebook Buy and Sell Group.*
Come back often. We are literally adding new items every single day!
Online Estate Sale Details:
Local pickup and cash are preferred. However they aren’t required! You can buy any item listed on this website using PayPal. We will also ship most items anywhere in the United States. Just enter your zip code in the cart and shipping fees will be automatically calculated.**
Shopping online is fun, but it can’t last forever!
Live Estate Sale Details:
Mark your calendars! The live estate sale is
March 1-4 TBD. It’s going to be HUGE, and it’s going to be FUN!
More details are coming soon. For now, enjoy shopping online!
Oh, and please, spread the word about both the online and live estate sales. We need more than just friends and family to clean us out of house and home.
Closing Our House and Taking the Next Step:
You may not have done the mental math yet, but there are a lot of days between
March 4 (when the estate sale ends) and September 1 (our anticipated arrival in Athens). The reason we are holding the estate sale now is because we are closing our house and moving on March 19 TBD.
Where are we moving? Stay tuned. That is still a bit of a mystery! Just know, you will still see us around… a lot.
Needless to say, there are a lot of important things happening in a very short amount of time. In fact, they are happening in t-minus ten weeks and counting.
Here’s the thing: We can’t do ANY of this alone.
Here’s the good news: We aren’t supposed to do ANY of this alone! God created us for community, to work and function as a body that accomplishes His good purposes.
And these, my friends and family, are hard but very good purposes!
So, what can you do to help?
- If you would like to support us financially, let us know. We would love to share our story and discuss what partnership looks like. You can drop us an email or give us a call. If you don’t have our contact info, just fill out the form on this page.
2. Shop our estate sale both online and in person!
3. Spread the word about our calling to Greece and our estate sale! Spread the word far! Spread the word wide! We need you!
With Joy and Great Expectation,
John & Amy Patton
